Dark Moon Anthology Short Story Writing Contests for Horror Writers

If you love writing horror short stories or scary poems, then you've come to the right place.

Dark Moon Books (an imprint of Stony Meadow Publishing) currently has three contests open to all writers, published or unpublished. We are looking forward to reading some great short stories and poetry!

BASIC RULES:

• All work must be submitted by the author holding the copyright. (If your work is not copyrighted, don't worry. Copyright laws protect your work from the moment you started writing it.)

• Your work must be previously unpublished in print format. (Online publication is okay as long as you hold the copyright and are not bound by exclusivity to any person, party or website.)

• By submitting your work, you authorize us to use the work as promotional content as needed. You also give Stony Meadow Publishing and Dark Moon Books First North American Serial Rights if we decide to publish your entry in the corresponsing anthology. (Check here for more information on copyrights.) All other rights remain yours. We only desire single time use rights.

• You may withdraw your entry from consideration at any point before the contest end dates, but this request must be made in writing (e-mail is fine).

• Entrants selected as finalists for each contest will be notified within 60 days of the end of said contest.

• Dark Moon Books reserves the right to extend contest deadlines.

• Submit all entries in either Word (.doc) format, rich text format or include it in the body of your e-mail..

• Include your name, address, phone number and e-mail address in your e-mail as well as your entry.

Winners of the each contest will be announced within 60 days after the contest closes.

We will also accept questions and queries by snail mail (Dark Moon Books, Stony Meadow Publishing, 1690 Dunn Avenue #619, Daytona Beach, FL 32114, but all entries must be in either .doc or rich text format or included within the body of your e-mail..
